Let's be honest, there are days as a Mom I'm exhausted but know I need to wake up for my toddler. Today was one of those days. I'm tired from traveling but wanted to do something fun with William. He doesn't do so well being inside the house all day. My first thought was go to a park but then I realized it was Leap day. He's obviously only 2.5 but I thought it might be fun to do some celebrating. I did some searching and saw that Pretend City was having a special celebration. Pretend City is exactly that. An indoor city for children that lets them imagine, interact, and pretend play!
Indoor play areas are two categories for me..
1. It's also an indoor play area for mommy & I'm exhausted when we leave just as much as William. Think bounce houses. For older kids this is more relaxing for parents but for a toddler you must do everything with them.
2. A place that I can play with William if he wants me to but I can also stay back a little and just keep an eye on him.
Pretend City is #2. I have to stay with William but he can explore on his own. This is delightful. I'm able to watch his little face light up but can also survive the rest of the day without exhaustion.
The best part is I can hold my ice coffee in my hand. A lot of places won't let parents bring drinks inside. This is not one of those places. Yes I know this might sound silly to some but having a toddler requires COFFEE!!
So what's in the place?
I'm sure I'm leaving a couple things out but here it is.
- water table area
- drs office
- pretend roads with cars
- farm area
- construction area
- baby chicks!! Yes I said baby chicks!!
- art area
- a little house with separate rooms
- block area
- infant area
- grocery store
Below are pictures from our day!
