There has been a little shift in our home lately. William has been becoming more interested in doing fun things with Daddy instead of Mama. William loves to rough house with Daddy, read with him, and swim with him. On top of activities, he's into all things Captain America and involving planes. I try to play with him but he totally knows I'm not that in love with any of those things. The other day he refused to swim with me because Sebastian wasn't there. Obviously it's not a competition but I live for time with William. Time that he actually wants to spend with me. I'm constantly helping William get through his days but I like to be fun too! Not just a serious, no play mama. With this in mind I came up with Mama + William dates once a week. Date activities vary but the point is to have fun with William + show that it can be fun with Mama too. We have had a tough week with Sebastian being in the city so this week I decided to do our date night on Friday at South Coast Plaza.
William + Mama Date Night Itinerary:
First Stop: Sugarfina
I'm obsessed with this store! I don't think you can go in it without buying something. The candy is adorable and so very yummy. I frequently buy friends gifts from here. Honestly could live in it. Think Kate Spade but candy. William is in love with gummies. I knew he'd die when he walked in the store. Of course he did! The staff was so lovely and immediately offered William samples. We grabbed cute little sea gummies to eat at the movies.
The store has a video feature, princess castle, and so many Disney toys. William had a very hard time deciding on an item but finally found his Miles From Tomorrowland. He couldn't wait to open him once we walked out the store.
Just outside The Disney Store is a carousel. Costs $1 per child. William wasn't so excited to get on the horses that move up and down. The child is very cautious. He was more than happy to sit next to me.
Wasn't our plan but he darted in to see the cars. Everything was "Wow, wow, wow!". I'll definitely take one of the convertibles.
Grabbed some sugar cookies, macarons, and a coffee(for Mama)! William was so excited for macarons, he ate mine.
Finally: The Movies.
William has been getting so excited when he sees the commercials for Ice Age. I had to take him to see it. I have never seen him sit so still. He absolutely loved it!
We ended our night dancing to a live band outside of the Edward Metro Pointe 12 Cinema. When we got home he gave me a big kiss, hug, and fell asleep in 15 minutes.
Cheers to our first date night for the books!
